One big news item this month is Jupiter (the great benefic) entering
the sign of Leo and it will remain there through August next year.
Those born July 22 - 31 are in for a special treat this summer
and those born August 1 - 11 will feel the benefits of Jupiter on
your Sun this fall, winter, and next spring. Lucky, enthusiastic,
optimistic, exuberant you! Jupiter in Leo will bring an abundance
of creativity to us all and enthusiasm and self-confidence to our
adventures. Well-deserved admiration and prestige will follow
benevolent sharing. Politicians, government officials, news
commentators and corporate executives, who collectively comprise
America, Inc., will be full of bombastic, pompous platitudes and an
exaggerated need to deflect criticism and project responsibility for
mistakes or inadequacies onto others. Watch for inflated ego or
excessive pride in yourself as well as in the power brokers. Those
who are strictly self-serving or who are all talk with no substance will
be seen as such and must learn that greatness comes from service to
humanity, not from self-aggrandizement and avarice.
Another big news item is Saturn in Gemini trine Uranus in Aquarius.
This aspect will affect us August through mid-January, is at a
maximum August 21, 2002, and will return briefly next summer but in
different signs. This is a period to bring creative, new ideas
into manifestation and it's a great time to make permanent changes.
A good time to impress authority figures with your innovative
ideas. Greater understanding of universal principles can lead to
recognition of karmic situations and result in restructuring of our lives.
This is also the ability to create structure out of chaos.
This influence provides an opportunity to recognize attempts by the
government and news media to put a positive spin on a declining economy
and stock market. Enron, WorldCom, Global Crossings, Arthur
Anderson (examples of America, Inc.) and more scandalous debacles in the
future are symptoms of a decaying and eventually collapsing corporate and
stock market system based on individual greed and power. But out
of the remains of this corrupt and selfish system will grow a new order
born of Aquarian principles of cooperation instead of competition, mutual
assistance that creates "win-win" instead of "win-lose" situations,
and humanitarian concern for others that enrich everyone.
One early manifestation of the coming Saturn trine Uranus evolution is
the increase in the number of us who are self-employed or who have
multiple sources of income and are, therefore, no longer income-dependent
on big corporations based in America (America, Inc.). The gap
between the rich of America, Inc. and all the rest of us continues to
grow rapidly as does the amount of suffering and anxiety experienced by
those at the bottom of the pyramid of greed and lust for power. But
our most powerful voice is not our votes - it is where we choose to spend
or not spend our money. Through making more enlightened spending
choices based on who we want to benefit, we can make a difference.
We can also choose to lead more simple and satisfying lives by not
buying the latest style clothing, the latest technological gadgets, the
newest cars, or the latest fast-food "specials." The way
to shift the focus of America, Inc. is through a change in our spending
habits. We can buy more from locally owned businesses and
restaurants and small companies - the smaller the better! Start
asking where your money goes when you buy a product. You have a
right to know, it's your money! With Saturn trine Uranus, our
salvation is in our unity - not in protectionism and fear of terrorism -
but in a commitment to a better, more compassionate life for us all.
